The Reason I Ended Up In A New Career In Search Engine Optimisation
Numbers of people have problems finding Careers that suit them. They’re not necessarily happy in a job and frequently aren’t certain what they want to be achieving when it comes to Career Choices. Certainly discovering New Careers is no straightforward task, no one can just waltz into a great job with attractive wages to go with it. My tale is no different, I was sick of work until I found my place in search engine optimisation. I’m hopeful my Career Choices in SEO will keep me going for a good long time and would like to reveal my experiences for any person searching for motivation.
My tale starts within a call centre employed by a fairly large and well recognised broadband provider. I was on the technical support team, taking endless amounts of calls, sorting out the same dull problems with the same aggravated customers, all day long. The work was OK to begin with, certainly not a primary choice when it comes to New Careers, but it was adequate to get me by. The trouble was, the management became more and more strict, targets were raised to absurd levels and we were eventually made to use a scripted program to aid customers, which was even more frustrating because you knew without it, you’d be more helpful on calls. It wasn’t until I finally lost my position here that I was able to progress to greater things.
It’s odd really how most of us won’t take action to find New Careers until our current one is at risk. If I had of looked sooner, I would have been out of that dreadful call centre, it was just laziness really and there was no justification for it. Needless to say, once I lost the job, I was in a tight spot financially and so was searching for Careers frantically. It wasn’t until my savings had just about ran out that I discovrered what seemed like a dream come true. I had spotted a job in SEO, which is basically enhancing websites for businesses so that they appear on page one of Google. What made this so attractive was, it was working from home, and had a salary of more than two times what I was on in the call centre.
As you can no doubt imagine, at this step I was a bit anxious, was I really going to be able to make such a large leap in my Careers? Many people would be battling their way up to such a salary. Thankfully, it turned out such a leap was achievable, as the job was actually self employed, but working under the name of the franchise. Salary and working days were my own to create, I couldn’t believe it, it was such a great opportunity. The only drawback was the initial training costs, I usually would have avoided such things, but this was too good to pass on, so I scrounged together what I could to afford it.
If you too are sick of work, or realise you can do better, why put it off? Don’t wait until what happened to me comes about. There are loads of Careers to pick from out there, put the time in and make a change. My new career is off to a promising start and the best thing is, I can do the work when I feel like it.
