The Shortcut into Recycling Issues

Posted on October 6th, 2009

The high comfort standards of modern life have more side effects than you can possibly imagine. We have everything that our grandparents couldn’t even dream of when they were young, but at the same time we have spoiled our planet dreadfully and are still doing that. The main reason of high levels of pollution is the inappropriate disposal of waste materials, and all of us are to blame for this. The only way to accept the responsibility and start consciously changing the situation for the better is to accept the new way of living, which has received the name of green living.

The main problem of modern people is that they see themselves separately from the environment they live in, when in fact they are a part of it. We have forgotten that we belong to the nature because the virgin nature is very far away from us and unusual for us. Of course I don’t mean to speak of full returning to the nature, but we have to have respect for it and preserve it. After all, it is us who pollutes the water we drink, the air we breathe and the soil we plant foods in. Here are some examples of what people usually do which is totally opposite to green living:

• Heating water to very high temperature. In most cases the water is heated to such an extent that it is impossible to even wash hands in it. So we just add cold water and think that it is okay. But by doing this we waste water, heat and energy, using much more of each than necessary.

• Using the heating system which is based on heating water, when we could take the heat straight from the sun! A solar heating system is not cheap, but if you can afford it you had better buy it and it will save you thousands of dollars in future.

• Eating a great quantity of prepared food and foods containing chemicals. The eating habits of vast majority of people are a disaster. They not just ruin our body and health, but do great harm to the environment. Eating more organic food is what we should do now.

Green living priority is recycling of waste materials. A great deal of the garbage we throw away is recyclable, like plastic, paper, and glass products. If we don’t recycle them, we add more and more garbage to the lands where it is collected, pollute soil and water, and bring to the end the natural resources. Recycling is the main principle of green living in most civilized countries. We could really do a lot for improving our planet if we accepted some simple recycling rules and added them to our daily routine. This has to be a must if we don’t want our planet to gradually turn into a huge pile of garbage.

Being smarter about using the resources of your life and planet is really cool. Your impact is very serious – you just need to know basic recycling facts.

No fancy stories, no fairy tales – just simple recycling facts that can open you brand new horizons in life. Get more recycling facts on this site.
