Everyone should be aware of solar energy and wind energy and the advantages they hold. There are various solar and wind energy systems out there, but surprisingly enough, the majority of people in the world today are still not aware of exactly what they are and of the benefits that solar energy and wind energy has to offer.

Benefits

There is a long list of benefits offered by solar energy and wind energy. For one, these solar and wind energy systems offer quality, durability and reliability. Because solar energy is renewable and we will never run out of it, we as a nation do not have to worry about overdoing it. We are using the power of the sun which is free and continuous, and using it to provide electricity to homes and vehicles.

Modern solar water heating systems are able to provide a large portion of household hot water on demand, depending of course on local climate conditions. This means that instead of having to rely on other forms of electricity to heat your water, by using a solar energy and wind energy to provide electricity to your home, you will know that you are choosing the best route.

Another of the greatest benefits to solar energy and wind energy is that with it you are really doing your part for the environment. By relying on solar energy for your energy needs, you know that you are not using anything that is polluting the environment and that you are really doing the best thing that you can.

There is some incredible potential offered by the solar energy and wind energy, and really all that needs to be done now is for word to get out on this. Everyone needs to be aware of what solar and wind energy have to offer us and why we should all be moving towards making the switch.

Solar thermal energy is the heat from the sun which can be used to do a variety of things, and will decrease electric and gas costs during the winter making your home use less resources from coal burning power plants and the burning of fuel, and will save the environment from greenhouse gases which turn solar energy against us by heating our atmosphere.

It is therefore easy to see just how beneficial it will be for you to make the switch over to solar energy and feel good doing it.

One of the primary concerns with using solar panels to empower homes is that it’s a relatively new technology, and any new technology carries with it a certain consumer wariness with it. Cell phones, computers, and even fluorescent light bulbs took a few years to catch on in the mainstream market, but once they did, they took off at a frantic pace. Their increasing popularity can be attributed not only to increased consumer knowledge about the technology, but ever decreasing prices. If you want a source of free and stready electricity to your home, then looking into solar energy home installation is a cheap and guaranteed way to get solar panels installed atop your home.

Not Sci-Fi Anymore

Solar panels might once have been in the dreams of Isaac Asimov and Ray Bradbury, but solar energy home installation is increasingly common because of their cost efficiency and insurance against future spikes in the cost of energy bought off the power grid. Solar energy for residential homes is a great investment for new home owners, because while you’re paying a great deal more up front, you won’t be paying for electricity down the road for the entire time that you use solar energy. Also, solar energy home installation uses some of the newer and, consequently, most efficient solar panels ever created, so you’re actually paying less money for a more efficient source of power.

While it’s true that some people might not necessarily like them for how they appear sitting on top of homes, they can be hidden behind the house very easily with solar energy home installation so that nobody will see them while driving by. Also, there are kits for installing them on poles that you simply stick in the ground, giving you increased flexibility as to where you want to place them in the backyard. These kits are continually becoming cheaper, smaller, and more efficient, so you might reasonably ask why you wouldn’t wait to purchase them later, when they’re even cheaper, smaller, and more efficient than they are now. However, solar energy home installation isn’t decreasing at a rate which makes it worthwhile to wait, so you’ll still save more money by upgrading today.

Some other great locations for solar energy home installation are on top of the shed in the backyard. They generally are appreciated for their utility, not their looks, so they make ideal places to install solar panels. A general rule of thumb is that solar panels will take about ten years to pay themselves off (of course, this figure will decrease as they become cheaper over time), and you can install another solar panel or two if your electrical needs increase. However, you can always sell excess electricity to the power company, and they’ll even pay you for it, so solar energy home installation could even be used to make a small profit.

It is believed that the average cost of solar energy works out to between ten and twelve dollars per watt of electricity consumed and this cost can in fact be lowered further by participating in incentives offered by the state. As far as average cost of solar energy vis-à-vis the solar system is concerned the cost of installing such a system would be another twenty thousand dollars though it is entirely up to you how much you wish to spend to obtain your electricity from a solar energy system.

Portable Solar Energy Systems

However, if your objective is to only power up your computer as well as a number of tiny items then the average cost of solar energy could work out to be considerably lower since you would only be paying between seven hundred and one thousand dollars for a portable solar system. In fact, with such a low average cost of solar energy, you should consider buying portable solar systems to power up an RV, boat or even use it when camping.

Besides considering the average cost of solar energy, you can also save on water bills and also take heart from the fact that such a system pays it back in just three years or even sooner. In fact, when you are building a home for you it would pay to factor in the average cost of solar energy and include in the design of the new home a passive solar design and ensure that you have place to keep a solar energy system facing the south.

Another heartening feature to using solar energy is that the average cost of solar energy has started to come down to the tune of about four percent each year and this has been going on for the past fifteen years, and as new efficiencies are incorporated and economies of large scale manufacturing are realized, there is every reason to hope that the average cost of solar energy will come down even further.

Some figures even put the average cost of solar energy for residential homes at between eight and ten dollars per watt and by availing of government incentives the average cost of solar energy can come down to as little as between three to four dollars per watt, which works out to roughly ten to twelve cents per kilowatt hour, though without incentives this figure could double.

Thus, having ascertained the true cost of installing solar energy, you will certainly find that solar energy works out to be a more viable alternative to using conventionally produced energy. It is thus a good idea to install solar energy in order to achieve independence from power obtained via the grid and at the same time ensue getting clean and efficient energy for your home.

Solar energy consumption is on the increase. That’s the information coming from governments and international watchdogs, and it’s also a trend you can follow in the stock market. What’s more, not only is there a greater demand for solar power, but the range of solar products available to the marketplace is diversifying rapidly.

Any experienced business person will tell you that this marks the start of a boom in the industry, and that a period of rapid growth can be expected to follow. With that in mind, can you afford to wait before you get involved?

Getting ahead of solar trends and getting involved in this growing business is something you can do at many levels. For the casual investor, there are many promising solar product manufacturers whose share prices are on the rise.

There are also charitable initiatives, giving you the opportunity to make a financial investment at the same time as investing in the future of third world communities for whom solar energy can be a lifesaving resource. And, of course, there’s direct investment in solar products – getting your home and business ready for a new, brighter age. As our planet teeters on the brink of environmental crisis, it’s important for individuals to show leadership and make the change to solar energy so that others are encouraged to do likewise.

In the past, investing in solar energy has been a precarious way to manage your money. Every business person knows that the financial success of an industry depends not only on the value of its products but also on the faith with customers and other investors place in it.

Now that solar energy companies are really starting to be taken seriously, with solar trends on the rise across a broad spectrum of products, it’s not only safe to go solar with your money, it’s the smart thing to do. If you really want to make an investment which will benefit both you and the planet, now’s the time to do it.
